New Ad Insertion Features via Motorola and BlackArrow


Motorola announced integration today of the B-1 on-demand video server with BlackArrow’s ad decision engine. The combination lets operators target ads in real time and insert them anywhere within a piece of on-demand content: pre-roll, mid-roll, post-roll, wherever. From the the B-1 side, the key point here is the ability to create ranged playlists, which provides the flexibility for moving beyond bumper ads and inserting content at any point in an on-demand stream.

The BlackArrow news is the latest in a series of updates to the Motorola on-demand portfolio this year. Most recently came the introduction of the ODM2000 media blade supporting DRAM and Flash, and the CPS1000 cluster manager for determining where content should be placed in a network. But beyond those launches, there’s been plenty of other Motorola on-demand news:
