Remember that reference guide software I mentioned last week with the Motorola launch of Medios? Well I discovered a pretty cool embedded feature. It’s being called 4-way nav, and it lets you use the arrow keys on your TV remote to bring up different short menus. The main benefit is the ability to stay in-channel while reviewing other menu options. The up arrow brings up selections letting you restart the current show, bookmark a program, view messages, log in to a social TV app, configure settings, and access help. The down arrow gives you program info and a couple of shortcuts including one to enable a chat function. The left arrow gives you selections for the VOD library, a recommendation application, and bookmarks. And the right arrow opens up the social TV menu.
